ALTA Tax Relief was founded by Robert J. Kavaliauskas, EA, CTRS, a former IRS Revenue Officer and Revenue Agent with a rare, firsthand understanding of federal tax enforcement.
Robert originally hails from Connecticut and earned his business degree with a major in accounting from Western Connecticut State University. After graduation, he relocated to Missouri to begin his career with the Internal Revenue Service.
Over the course of 8 years with the IRS and 8 years representing taxpayers, Robert worked directly on more than 1,000 tax cases. This experience gives him a unique, insider perspective on how the IRS evaluates cases, applies pressure, and, most importantly, where opportunities exist for resolution. It is this dedication to helping families protect their futures that inspired the name of the firm—ALTA stands for Robert’s four children: Ava, Luke, Teddy, and Annie.
